We’re Fiona & Antonio De Medici, the husband & wife team behind Teatro who met right here on Elba at a country supper table. United in our passion for Italian gastronomy, we opened Teatro Bistro & Wine Bar together in 2015 and have been on a journey to celebrate local Elban cuisine, and champion our island producers ever since.

Together, we now have almost 40 years of experience in the world of food and wine. We began under the auspices of the Slow Food movement and since then have continued to embrace that philosophy of fresh, local, authentic food.

Antonio, originally from Reggio Emilia is a qualified Sommelier and bringer of good humour. Forever ready to satisfy the need of our diners, he inherited his grandparents’ deep love of wine, good food and well-being.

Fiona, born in England, works more behind the scenes. If she’s not mixing creams for desserts, she’s keeping the administrative aspects of Teatro in order. And being of Maltese descent, has a strong love of the Mediterranean island culture (and climate!).
